I GOT A REVIEW ON FF.NET FOR MY INVADER ZIM FIC.

I DID NOT OPEN THE E-MAIL. I WANTED NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. I JUST SCREAMED LIKE A LITTLE GIRL AND DELETED IT.

STOP READING THOSE STORIES, YOU GUYS, I AM BEGGING YOU. YOU CANNOT EVEN UNDERSTAND THE DEPRAVITY THAT WENT INTO THEM! MOST OF THEM WERE BETS! I'M NOT EVEN KIDDING.

(I'M TOO CHICKEN TO LOG ON FOR LONG ENOUGH TO TAKE THEM DOWN!!!)

I have found THE soundtrack for one of my stories, which [info]zece knows as the Winslow story.

And it is Epica (album) by Kamelot.

Oh my God, you guys.

It's gothic metal, and it is my most favorite type of album, the type that tells a story. In this case, it and it's sequel, Black Halo (SEQUEL, I SAY. THAT'S THE BEST!) based loosely on Goethe's Faust.

God, the music is amazing, and if you read the descriptions of the story line (here) you get even more sucked in. You listen to the story, and you can see Ariel wandering the world, looking for truth.

I get all philosophic as I listen to it, but the point is, it fits my own story in a way I find rather eerie. Eerie and AWESOME.

Check it out, you guys.

Merde merde MERDE!

For those of you who do not understand French, this translates into, "I got inspired to take Winslow into an entirely different direction and am now going to have to rewrite EVERYTHING."

MERDE.

I might have accidentally spent the whole day writing.

On a story that I haven't been inspired for since I wrote up my story synopsis, ages ago.

And I'm not even writing from where I left off. I'm writing a scene that takes place so far in the future, it's more like Volume 3 of the Story, rather than The Story.

Jeeesus.

Saw Drag Me To Hell.

In a word? Unnecessary. )

On top of that, I came to a realization. The story I'd been writing like a mad thing is back, only this time the main male is black and there is a dog involved.

Should be interesting.

Ganked from [info]nu_breed:

Post a single sentence extract from each WIP you have (or as many as you want to pick). No context, no explanations.

::sigh:: )

Oh lord, that's both painful and amusing all at once.

When you realize after an hour long writing spree that in the last 2000 words your characters are no longer recognizable and you are doing it wrong.

So now I have to rewrite... uh, just a lot. But with any luck, my bastard will become a mildly human bastard and my pain-in-the-ass heroine become a capable pain-in-the-ass.

Guys, if I had a test or something to study for this weekend, this would be such a bad scene.

I dyed my hair again today. I'd been planning on going back to brown when my paycheck got cashed later this week, but after mentioning my plan to my friends, one of them presented me with a box of semi-permanent brown hair dye. I was like, 'Cool!'

My hair is now almost black from the tips to about an inch from the roots. The lighter brown is where my natural hair color grew in from the bleach job. The whole deal has a strange red tint to it. Once again, my hair defies description other than 'dyed all to hell'.
Kay.

Today I started my research on what kind of car I may be getting (ideally) later this year. A friend who actually KNOWS about cars helped me in my rambling search of the internet classifieds, pointing out weaknesses in certain models and keeping up a running commentary on how I could later improve a car's performance with turbos and the owner's manual. I made mental notes and together we came to a tentative make and model worth pursuing. The Pontiac Sunfire, year unknown. As a rule, they seem to get decent gas mileage, and there were enough in the same price range for you to be able to tell if something was inflated or suspiciously low.
My father swears that he will not allow me to buy an unsafe car, and the Sunfire has a low safety rating for driver side collisions, but my father is not paying for the car or the insurance. So.

Theres a lot of time between now and when I can afford to actively search out a potential buy, but a inkling of what I want is there. Because Kias are crap, Chryslers kill my soul, and Hondas are outside of my budget by quite a few zeros.

On the writing front, I'm still trying to find music to write to. I've got one character pinned down with the help of Bohren & der Club of Gore, but the second character still eludes me. Probably because I don't know enough about them, yet.

Eh. I gotta quit stalling and study for a philosophy test. Ask me how excited I am.

You flounce in, all sassy and loud, talking in my ear to make me write you, but when I try to get some theme music so you actually condense in my mind as a character, you fuck off.

Or you try to tell me that the key to your character lies within country, which I refuse to believe.

I don't write country.

... right?

Crap. I got the bug to start writing another story. I started this one in France as well. Its modern-ish. Rather American Gods-esc. But, if you ask me, there aren't enough American Gods-esc books out there, so its a forgivable parallel.

If this one (of many) goes anywhere, it will be a credit to classic rock stations, everywhere.

HOLY SHIT, y'all.

Okay, long story short. I wrote. That was the easy part.
It was the figuring out how the hell to indent and how to use css, that was the bitchkitty.

Go read it. AND ENJOY THOSE INDENTATIONS. YOU CANNOT KNOW WHAT THEY COST MEEEEE!!!

Snippity! )

Yeah. Uh. Theres more, actually. I just wanna get a feel for the story with y'all. [info]zece always gets on my for packing on the pathos in my stories, so I'm doing what I can to prevent that, but... yeah.

Can a fantasy swords/sorcery story be written with a modern voice?

Because I am not at all in the groove of long-winded Tolkien-isms. My characters don't think like that any more than I do. This may call for adjustment.

ANSWER: Oh, yes they can.

I keep trying to make a start on writing the Winslow story, mostly because Lily Drake will not shut up!
But I think I need the copious amount of notes I took on Winslow's actual character before I can make a start. And all of those are in my French notebooks, somewhere at home.
Also at home is my chosen beta!Mandi, so waiting until Monday or so to start seems like a good idea.

Its just kinda frustrating...
