...

I have profound thoughts.
Seriously.

I've always loved the idea of a lawless underground of the normal world that no one seems to see. Places where things happen without any real explanation or repercussion. Just constant weird, out in the open where no one notices.

Because the world needs more weird.

Buffy was like that. It opened up worlds that you always knew existed. I think I dubbed them 'I-knew-it!' stories in another post, somewhere...
But it introduced them with humor, horror, and morals. This show actually covered real-world stuff amidst all the weird. Watching it helped me figure out some things for myself, which almost strikes me as unhealthy but, hey, at least its not Oprah.

Not to mention the strong female aspect. Pre-Buffy, we'd never had that. She was new and powerful, and now we all want to be like her when we grow up. Because while she could totally take care of herself, she also dealt with problems we all know all too well. High school (ugh), parents, bullies, college, boyfriends, sex... Maybe we'll never have to deal with the exact extremes that she did, but we still take heart from her example.

You go, girl.

HOWEVER. Its still a tie in my head as to who the story is REALLY about. Spike, Giles, or Xander.

I'm stumped.

Anyway, next up, Angel.

I was watching Buffy, right? And she and Angel are getting frisky. And then the camera cuts away because, you know, prime time TV can't be doin' with the nudity, and all I can think to say is:

"And then one thing led to another, and four hours later they had sex!"

INSIDE JOKE PEOPLE. IT WAS FUNNY. TRUST ME ON THIS ONE.

ow. even writing in capslock hurts my head...

Spike and Angel, President Roslin and Gaius Baltar, Harry and Hermione—shippers often find pairings that the original author might have overlooked. What coupling of fictional characters would you most like to see?

What a dangerous question. This could take a while...

My super-seekrit guilty pleasure pairing in the classical genre is Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson.

My current movie fondest wish in the movie department is The Comedian and Ozymandias.

My tv-show wishlist of pairings is kind of long: Johnny Smith/Walt Bannerman (The Dead Zone)
Mulder/Krycek (X-Files)
Rube/Mason (Dead Like Me)
Oz/Anybody (Buffy)
Angel/Lindesy (Angel)
Wesley/Gunn (Angel)
Fraser/Ray K (Due South)
Jim/Blair (The Sentinel)
House/Wilson. And this is even canon, people. Yes, it is. (House)
and I'll stop there.

The comic book pairing that does it for me is Wolverine and Gambit.
Hell, ANYTHING Gambit floats my boat.

I perv on games, as well.
Zack/Cloud/Sephiroth, not limited to threesomes. (FFVII)
Issac/Felix (Golden Sun). Don't judge me.
Sora/Riku (KHI)
Roxas/Axel (KHII)

An' thats the short of it. Over-active imaginations ftw!

Bah. I forgot how addicting TV is. Being raised without it kinda leaves you susceptible to it.

Watched what little of the second season of Burn Notice exists, and then the first episode of The Sentinel.

And I gotta say. This series was too damn good to let rot with only the first season on DVD. Come on, y'all! Late 90's TV shows were the bomb! Everyone spends their time nowadays trying to emulate them, because everyone is desensitized by Gossip Girl. Buffy. X-Files. Stargate. The Sentinel. All of this great stuff, now consigned to late-night reruns.

Lets not forget our roots, people.

Dude, and that totally reminds me of a story I once read, a short yet sweet X-Files/Sentinel crossover... where did I put that thing... ?

Also. I wanna be Blair Sandburg when I grow up. A total grad student dweeb who's still endearing in the fact that they are brilliant, yet inept.

Oh, TELL me that doesn't describe my neurosis.
