I used to be an anime buff. And I mean, really. I still kind of am, but I've defiantly outgrown the magic-girl romantic graphic novels that are so popular right now. My personal favorites are still Yu Yu Hakusho, Outlaw Star, and Magic Knight Rayearth.

God, that seems like such a long time ago...

Anywho. I've been browsing around with idle curiosity, as I tend to, on Wikipedia. You do it too, don't lie.
But then I came across the ancient Chinese story, Journey to the West. And it looks pretty interesting. I enjoy Buddhist principles and the intricacies of Chinese folklore, and epic travel novels? I'm in.

So imagine my excitement when I discover that the anime series Saiyuki is based off of the Journey to the West storyline.

I knew about this series, peripherally, but never got into it. That's generally how it goes. If you, personally, have not seen the series, you always know about it. There tend to be no surprises in the anime world. So imagine my reaction to this discovery, when I'd never heard about this tie-in between classic Chinese folklore and Japanese comics, before.

Okay, yeah, Japan and China are not bff in any way, but like I said. Anime geeks always know whats going on. When Advent Children leaked? We knew it about three minutes later, no joke. It was wild.

But anyway. The point of this post is that I may now be venturing back into the anime/manga world, if only to check out this Saiyuki madness. And maybe Getbackers.


ARGH.

Imagine that all of this was spoken outloud, in the dead of night, somewhere from the vicinity of the shadows in your closet, with a Canadian accent, and just blame WB.

Okay, so in France, the First of May is a holiday. And because it takes place on a Thursday this year, and we don't go to school on Saturday (not unheard of in France), they gave us the day in the middle (see: Friday) off as well.

Only problem is that this gives me oppertunity to abuse the computer even longer with my Supernatural habit.

Which isn't working too well on Season 2 because megavideo doesn't host it. Dammit.

Mandi, I looked into Burn Notice, and it is so my next stop, but Sam and Dean have gotta stop chewin' on my brain first.

I have found the best Medium episode ever.

Okay, so I watch Medium every Saturday nigth at 8:50. They air three episodes, and the dialouge is suprisingly easy to understand in French...

Anyway, I'm thouroughly addicted, since I need something to crush on as we are lacking Discovery Channel.

So last night, I only got to watch an episode and a half, because my band practice (yes, I'm back in band, damn me straight to hell) started two hours late last night and ran till 10. In the pm. But it was so worth it.

The episode is called 'Twice Upon a Time', and Allison has a dream after a stressed out day, where she married a man other than her real-world husband. And she runs into her real-world husband in the dream-world, and he gets all woobie-eyed, and I was all like ::melt::.

Its a really sweet story.

But the best part was that there is a court scene that means everything and nothing to the plot. And who might to guest-star defendant be?
